Borja BONAIL. ORCID: 0000-0002-1891-7437. Researcher and Project Manager in the Neurorehabilitation Department of the Health Division of TECNALIA Research & Innovation in Donostia-San Sebastian. Borja Bonail holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of the Basque Country (UPV), which he obtained in 2004. He then obtained the Certificate-Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in Distributed Systems from the same university in 2007. Until 2008 he was a predoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Computer Science of San Sebastian of the UPV with a grant from the Basque Government in intelligent mobile robotics. In 2008 he starts working as a full time researcher at FATRONIK (in 2011 becomes TECNALIA RESEARCH & INNOVATION) in the HEALTH Division. Currently he is also a project manager, and has an EXECUTIVE MBA by Mondragon Unibertsitatea and the Chamber of Gipuzkoa finished in 2019. Since the beginning in Tecnalia, he has been developing technological solutions based on research projects in physical and neurological rehabilitation of patients. He has more than 15 years of experience in the development of machine learning systems (Machine Learning, more specifically, Deep Learning), mobile application development in iOS/Android, cloud computing (Google Cloud, AWS), real-time embedded software development for robotics and indoor robot localization; and capture and processing of physiological signals such as heart rate, respiratory and EMG, electrical impedance tomography, as well as in Functional Electrical Stimulation. He is (or has been) the principal investigator on behalf of Tecnalia in the following projects: Geristim (SPRI), Exofes (SPRI), Electrovest (CDTI), Electrotight (CDTI), Exosasun (SPRI) and GIMO-PD (FISEVI, Univ. Borja Bonail es Ingeniero en Informática por la Universidad del País Vasco (UPV), título que obtuvo en 2004. A continuación, obtuvo el Certificado-Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (DEA) en Sistemas Distribuidos por la misma universidad en 2007. Hasta 2008 fue investigador predoctoral en la Facultad de Informática de San Sebastián de la UPV con una beca del Gobierno Vasco en robótica móvil inteligente. En 2008 empieza a trabajar como investigador a tiempo completo en FATRONIK (en 2011 se convierte en TECNALIA RESEARCH & INNOVATION) en la División de SALUD. En la actualizad es, además, de gestor de proyectos, y tiene un MBA EXECUTIVE por Mondragon Unibertsitatea y la Cámara de Gipuzkoa terminado en 2019. Desde el comienzo en Tecnalia, ha venido desarrollando soluciones tecnológicas basadas en proyectos de investigación de rehabilitación física y neurológica de pacientes. Tiene más de 15 años de experiencia en el desarrollo de sistemas de aprendizaje automático (Machine Learning, más concretamente, Deep Learning), desarrollo de aplicaciones móviles en iOS/Android, computación en la nube (Google Cloud, AWS), desarrollo de software embebido en tiempo real para robótica y localización de robots en interiores; y captura y procesamiento de señales fisiológicas como el ritmo cardiaco, respiratorio y EMG, tomografía de impedancia eléctrica, así como en Estimulación Eléctrica Funcional. Es (o ha sido) el investigador principal por parte de Tecnalia de los siguientes proyectos: Geristim (SPRI), Exofes (SPRI), Electrovest (CDTI), Electrotight (CDTI), Exosasun (SPRI) y GIMO-PD (FISEVI, Univ. Sevilla). Es co-autor de diversas publicaciones científicas relacionadas la robótica, Inteligencia Artificial y aprendizaje automático.
