THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS APPLICATION IS TO APPLY FOR FUNDING TO PREPARE AND SUBMIT A TECHNICALLY SOUND AND SUSTAINABLE PROJECT DESIGNATED REPRODUCTIVE TISSUE ENGINEERING IN 3D: IMPROVING ANIMAL AND HUMAN REPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE AND HEALTH UNDER THE CALL H2020-FETOPEN-2018-2020, TOPIC: FETOPEN-01-2018-2019-2020: FET-OPEN CHALLENGING CURRENT THINKING,STARTING DATE OF THE ACTION: 1/1/2019FINAL DATE OF THE ACTION: 31/12/2020ENDOMETRIOSIS, UTERINE INFECTIONS AND HORMONAL PROBLEMS ARE REPRODUCTIVE DISORDERS THAT FREQUENTLY IMPAIR FERTILITY IN HUMAN AND OTHER ANIMAL SPECIES, INFERTILITY NEGATIVELY AFFECTS HEALTH AND WELFARE AND CARRIES SEVERE ECONOMIC LOSSES TO LIVESTOCK INDUSTRIES REPORTED TO REACH 1,4 BILLION EUROS/YEAR JUST IN EU,RESEARCH INTO REPRODUCTIVE DISORDERS HAS BEEN HINDERED BY THE LACK OF SUITABLE IN VITRO CELLULAR MODELS, THE TRADITIONAL TWODIMENSIONAL (2D) CELL CULTURES DO NOT PROVIDE SUITABLE MICROENVIRONMENT FOR PHYSIOLOGICAL CELL GROWTH AND FUNCTION WITHIN CELLS OF DIVERSE ORIGINS AND LACK PREDICTABILITY IN TOXICOLOGY AND DRUGSCREENINGS, ADDITIONALLY, THE IMPACT OF ASSISTED REPRODUCTIVE TECHNOLOGIES ON PROGENY HEALTH NEEDS TO BE STUDIED IN DEPTH, WE WILL USE STATE-OF THE ART CELL CULTURE TECHNOLOGY TO DEVELOP A 3D REPRODUCIBLE, RELIABLE, COST-EFFECTIVE AND EASY-TO-USE FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE-TRACT-ON-A-CHIP IN VITRO CULTURE MODEL, FET-OPEN\CONSORCIO EUROPEO\INTERNACIONALIZACION\BIOMODELOS
