RECENTLY, A GROWING NUMBER OF EVIDENCES POINT TO THE FACT THAT THE DISTRIBUTION OF GENES IN THE CHROMOSOMES IS NOT RANDOM BUT RATHER HAS A STRONG FUNCTIONAL COMPONENT, SUCH FUNCTIONAL COMPONENT IS RELATED TO THE NECESSITY OF MAINTAINING GENE TEAMS SIMULTANEOUSLY ACTIVE, THE CONCEPT OF GENE TEAMS CONSTITUTES A MORE REALISTIC VISION OF THE FUNCTION, INSPIRED ON SYSTEMS BIOLOGY, THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PRIMARY STRUCTURE (LOCATION OF GENES ONTO THE CHROMOSOMES) AND FUNCTION (UNDERSTOOD AS THE COOPERATIVE ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY GENE TEAMS) HAS PROBABLY VERY MUCH TO DO WITH THE CONFORMATION OF THE CELL NUCLEUS (TRIDIMENSIONAL STRUCTURE), HOWEVER, IN PRACTICAL TERMS, THE MOST IMPORTANT CONSEQUENCES OF THE DISTRIBUTION OF GENES ACCORDING HEIR FUNCTIONAL PROPERTIES IS RELATED TO THE IMPLICATIONS IN THE PATHOLOGY OF DISEASES THAT HARBOR CHROMOSOMAL COPY NUMBER ALTERATIONS (HEREDITARY DISEASES, CANCERS, ETC,) MOREOVER, ANY NON-MENDELIAN DISEASE (MOST OF THE HEREDITARY DISEASES) OR ANY SYNDROME THAT AFFECTS TO A NUMBER OF GENES (INSTEAD TO A UNIQUE GENE) IS THOUGHT TO PRODUCE A SYSTEMIC PERTURBATION WHOSE REPAIR CAN HARDLY COME FROM A CLASSICAL APPROACH BASED IN THE SEARCH OF CONVENTIONAL TARGETS,IN THIS PROJECT WE AIM TO UNDERSTAND THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN GENE TEAMS WITH SPECIAL STRESS TO THEIR CHROMOSOMAL CONTEXT, TO THIS END WE WILL USE DIFFERENT GENOMIC AND TRANSCRIPTOMICS DATA THAT INCLUDE GENE EXPRESSION IN DISEASES AND TISSUES (IN HUMAN AND MOUSE) FUNCTIONAL DEFINITIONS (GO, KEGG, BIOCARTA), REGULATORY INFORMATION (TRANSFAC, CHIP-ON-CHIP DATABASES, METHYLATION DATABASES, MIRNAS, ETC,), INFORMATION ON POLYMORPHISMS AND DISEASES AND, OBVIOUSLY, INFORMATION OF CHROMOSOMAL COORDINATES OF THE GENES AS WELL AS REGULATORY AND EPIGENETIC ELEMENTS AROUND, THE STUDY OF THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN GENE TEAMS WITHIN THEIR CHROMOSOMAL CONTEXT WILL ALLOW A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE BASIS OF THEIR MUTUAL DEPENDENCES AND WILL EVENTUALLY ALLOW HYPOTHESIZING COMPENSATIONS TO THE PERTURBATIONS AS PUTATIVE CURATIVE THERAPIES, THE INFORMATION DERIVED FROM THIS STUDY WILL BE USED TO FUNCTIONALLY CHARACTERIZE SEVERAL COMPLEX DISEASES AND TO PROPOSE INNOVATIVE WAYS TO ADDRESS THEM, gene teams\regulacion\pathways\biología de sistemas\perturbaciones\estructura 3D nuclear
