THIS PROPOSAL HAS TO BE CONSIDERED AS A CONTINUATION OF THE COORDINATED PROJECT TEC2006-13170-C02-02 WHERE BOTH ATVS-UAM AND OUR RESEARCH GROUP GAPS-UPM WORKED TOGETHER TOWARDS THE ADVANCE OF SPEECH TECHNOLOGY AND ITS APPLICATION IN HUMAN-MACHINE INTERACTION, GAPS-UPM OBJECTIVES FOR THE CURRENT PROPOSED PROJECT ARE FOCUSSED ON THE FOLLOWING TWO MAIN RESEARCH LINES:1,- TO PROGRESS AND TO GO DEEPLY IN THE IMPORTANT RESEARCH LINE, STARTED FROM THE DEMAND OF A MEDICAL CENTRE WITHOUT BEING PREVIOUSLY PLANNED IN PROJECT TEC2006-13170-C02-02, OF USING SPEECH TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE AUTOMATIC DIAGNOSIS OF PATIENTS WITH SEVERE OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNOEA,2,- TO FACE THE IMPORTANT BENEFITS AND CHALLENGES DERIVED FROM THE INTEGRATION OF CONTEXTUAL INFORMATION FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF SPECIFIC SPEECH TECHNOLOGIES, AS WELL AS FOR THE DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF A NEW GENERATION ON CONTEXT-AWARE MULTIMODAL NATURAL INTERACTIVE SYSTEMS, IN THIS AREA RESEARCH WILL BE DIRECTED TOWARDS DIFFERENT APPLICATION FIELDS WHERE GAPS-UPM COULD REACH IMPORTANT INNOVATIVE CONTRIBUTIONS SUPPORTED AND GUIDED BY DIFFERENT INTERESTED AGENTS AND INDUSTRIAL SECTORS; APPLICATIONS SCENARIOS WILL BE: DIGITAL HOME; CONNECTED CAR AND ESPECIAL EDUCATIONS,FINALLY IS WORTH TO MENTION THAT FROM A SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL VIEW POINT, THIS PROJECT WILL BE FOCUSED ON THE CONSOLIDATION OF A PROBABILISTIC METHODOLOGY THAT COULD BE APPLIED BOTH TO SPEECH TECHNOLOGY IMPROVEMENT, AND TO DERIVE ROBUST AND FLEXIBLE HUMAN-MACHINE INTERACTION MODELS, THUS DIFFERENT BAYESIAN MODELS (FACTOR ANALYSIS, BAYESIAN NETWORKS, STATISTICAL CALIBRATION AND FUSION) WILL BE PROPOSED AND DEVELOPED AS THE COMMON THREAD FOR ATVS-GAPS COLLABORATION, THE RESULTING BAYESIAN FRAMEWORK WILL BE THE KEY ISSUE FOR INCLUDING CONTEXT INFORMATION (WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF PRECISION, QUALITY, AND UNCERTAINTY) INTO DIFFERENT SPEECH TECHNOLOGIES AND APPLICATION SCENARIOS DEVELOPED DURING THE PROJECT, APNEA\PATOLOGIAS\VOZ\BAYESIANO\INTERACCION\CONTEXTO\MULTIMODALIDAD\RECONOCIMIENTO\LOCUTOR\USABILIDAD
