Descripción del proyecto
THE UNIFYING CONCEPT OF THIS PROPOSAL IS THE USE OF PEPTIDES TO ORGANIZE MATTER AT THE MOLECULAR SCALE, THIS GENERAL IDEA IS EMBODIED IN TWO WORK PACKAGES (WPS) WITH DIFFERENT AIMS, METHODOLOGIES, AND MOLECULAR TARGETS, WP1 IS, ESSENTIALLY, THE FOLLOW-UP TO OUR PREVIOUS GRANT CTQ2015-70698-R, IN WHICH WE COMBINE OUR EXPERIENCE IN COORDINATION CHEMISTRY, PEPTIDE DESIGN, AND (BIO)MOLECULAR RECOGNITION TO DEVELOP NEW SUPRAMOLECULAR DNA BINDERS (METALLOPEPTIDE HELICATES), CATALYTIC METALLOPEPTIDES AND SELF-ASSEMBLED OLIGOMERIC MINIPROTEINS WITH APPLICATIONS IN MATERIALS CHEMISTRY (AS TEMPLATES FOR CONTROLLED GROWTH OF METAL CLUSTERS AND NANOWIRES), ON THE OTHER HAND, IN WP2 WE RETURN TO ONE OF OUR LONG-ESTABLISHED RESEARCH LINES ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF SENSORS TARGETING RELEVANT ONCOPROTEINS, MORE SPECIFICALLY, WE AIM TO DEVELOP NEW FLUORESCENT PEPTIDE PROBES TO STUDY THE ACTIVITY, LOCALIZATION, AND SIGNALING OF KRAS WITHIN CELLS (MOLECULAR IMAGING ASSAYS), AS WELL AS THE ADAPTATION OF THESE ASSAYS FOR THE IDENTIFICATION OF NEW CHEMOTHERAPEUTIC AGENTS (SCREENING ASSAYS FOR DRUG DISCOVERY), QUÍMICA SUPRAMOLECULAR\AUTOENSAMBLAJE\RECONOCIMIENTO DE ADN\SENSORES FLUORESCENTES\QUÍMICA BIOLÓGICA\PÉPTIDOS\QUÍMICA DE COORDINACIÓN
