Dr. Carlos Montañés is a founding partner and technical director in Nabladot S.L. since 2010. After obtaining the Chemical Engineering degree (2005) at the University of Zaragoza (Spain), he began to collaborate as a researcher at the Numerical Fluid Dynamics Group (GFN) at the University of Zaragoza. In this group, he carried out research tasks aimed at the industrial sector in the field of computational fluid dynamics. In 2010, he founded Nabladot S.L. together with his partners, starting his work as technical director, which he has developed until the present time without interruption. In parallel to his work in the company, he has carried out teaching duties as an associate lecturer in the Fluid Mechanics Area at the University of Zaragoza (2010-2013). Finished his work as a teacher, he began his doctoral thesis, which he presented in 2016. His PhD thesis was titled "Development of the Flamelet Generated Manifold model for the simulation of partially-premixed, non-adiabatic, laminar flames". From 2016 to September 2018, he has worked again as an associate lecturer of Fluid Mechanics at the University of Zaragoza. He has participated as a principal researcher in five European projects (CloudFlow, Fortissimo 2, CloudiFacturing, DT4Biomass, DigitBrain), six national funded R&D projects and more than 60 projects with private entities. Among the entities with which it has collaborated are: Asian Development Bank, Biocurve, CEMEX España SA, EDP, ENDESA, Wood PLC, Iberdrola, Idom, Ringo Valves, UNESA and Valeo Térmico. His contribution to these projects has been focused on fluid flow modelling using computational fluid dynamics techniques, combustion, renewable energies, meteorological models, heat transfer and energy efficiency. In the last years, he has been worked developing AI models combined with CFD techniques to elaborate real-time models. The manufacturing/process industry demands these models to build digital twins or cyber-physical systems in which physics models want to be incorporated. He has carried out this activity in the framework of European and national projects. Furthermore, he is one of the supervisors of the PhD thesis of Jaime Milla, titled: "Development of ROMs and Machine learning techniques for high-resolution wind forecasting."His research work has been reflected in his participation as an author in 9 articles in indexed international journals and the presentation of papers in 5 international conferences.
