PhD. Ana Isabel Fernández Calvo obtained her bachelor's Degree in Physics (Solid state physics) in 1995 Science Faculty, University of the Basque Country. She obtained her PhD. in Physics, Materials Science programme in the University of Navarra, in 2001. Research work: Recrystallization processes: static, dynamic and metadynamic of Nb and/or Ti microalloyed steels. Thin slab casting processes. Strain induced precipitation.She worked in several metallurgical research centres for more than 25 years.She has managed more than 30 collaborative projects for Spanish and Europe metal business industries. (see details below)Main research line is metallurgy of aluminium and ferrous alloys and their manufacturing technologies: development of new casting alloys with improved mechanical properties, Aluminium cast in place hybrid components development, metallurgical process optimization (melt, refining, additives and solidification) of casting alloys, microstructural modeling of alloys by thermal analysis technique, new casting technologies: ablation, hybrid processes,... She is the author of more than 40 scientific publications and she is the inventor of six International Patents.- Coordinator of H2020 project- 886609: "Innovative End of Life procedures for REcycling INTEGRAl welded Al-Li Aerostructures". 2020- 2023.- Coordinator of FP7 project -315506: "Vacuum-assisted high pressure die castings with reduced porosity at low cost". 2012 - 2015-Project manager of H2020 project- 830903: "Smart solution for connecting process with material characteristics to achieve new generation of digital materials for the automotive industry." 2019-2022- Coordinator of Basque Goverment funded- Elkartek project: IMAGINE: "Manufacturing of metallic hybrid components for Intelligent Industry" 2021-2022.
