Descripcion
Dr. Ana Ayerdi Izquierdo (female). She is a biochemist whose current research focuses on the understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the cell response to biomaterials. She received her PhD in 2007 after conducting her research between the Valencias’s Biomedicine Institute at the Spanish Scientific Research Council (IBV-CSIC), the David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT, and the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI). The thesis entitled “Genetic analysis of LGI1 paralogs and functional characterization of LGI1 protein” was graduated with honors. She joined Tecnalia’s Biomaterials group on 2008 and during this past 13 years she has been involved in more than 25 R+D projects, being 8 from the European commission (FP6, FP7 and H2020 programme). Her role as senior researcher in TECNALIA’s Biomaterials area, involves the preparation and development of both national and international proposals boosting the translation from basic research to biomedical products. Her broaden research activity can be also evaluated by her papers and congress contributions.
