Sergio Sanchez
I obtained my PhD from Universidad de La Rioja (Spain) in 2012 under the supervision of Prof. Elena Lalinde with a Doctoral Fellowship from the Spanish Research Council (C.S.I.C.). During my PhD, I acquired fully competence for the synthesis, characterization and determination of photophysical properties of organometallic complexes. In that period, I was strongly devoted on preparing manuscripts published in highly reputed multidisciplinary scientific journals (i.e., 14 from which 2 Chem. Commun., 3 in Inorg. Chem., 4 Dalton Trans., etc.). In addition, I was a visitor researcher at the groups of Prof. Tong Ren (Purdue University, USA) and Prof. Piero Mastrorilli (Politecnico di Bari, Italy). All these achievements were awarded with the “Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado” from U. La Rioja (Prize awarded to the most outstanding PhD in Science from U. La Rioja in 2012).I completed two postdoctoral appointments, the first with Dr. Benjamin Coe at the U. of Manchester from January 2013 to June 2016 and the second with Dr. Thomas Baumgartner at the U. of Calgary from July 2016 to July 2017. The postdoctoral experience has included visits to measure Hyper-Rayleigh scattering (HRS) spectroscopy and Stark spectroscopy with Prof. K. Clays (KU Leuven University, Belgium) and Dr. B. S. Brunschwig (California Institute of Technology, USA), respectively. During his postdoctoral appointments, I've been co-author of 18 publications in scientific journals.
