Iñaki Martínez-Sarriegui

BSc and MSc in Telecommunication Engineering and MSc in Telemedicine and Bioengineering. For 10 years I worked as a researcher at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Technical University of Madrid) in the field of Telemedicine focused on three main areas: patient self-empowerment; well-being and cardiometabolic syndrome prevention; and trust and reputation mechanisms applied to medical systems, receiving a PhD (cum laude) in Biomedical Engineering in the last-mentioned area.I have been engaged in a wide range of European, national and regional projects, proving a proactive and flexible attitude, proposing innovative solutions and the use of disruptive technologies; first as a pre-doctoral researcher at UPM and, since 2016, as the main researcher and technical coordinator at Optiva Media, where I also lead the Research & Innovation Area. As a result of my research activity, he has published more than 20 peer-reviewed publications.I am responsible for boosting Optiva Media’s innovation programmes, promoting the application of technologies like AI-ML, Data Privacy/Management, LiFi, Blockchain and/or XR-Metaverse to different application domains; and being personalized content consumption our main focus under a threefold mission: Understand TV, Explain TV, Change TV.As R&I manager I coordinate Optiva Media’s involvement in collaborative research initiatives, raising public funding through the participation in highly competitive open calls, where I lead the concept definition and contribute to the writing of the project proposal. Furthermore, I also participate in consultancy and sales activities where I can provide the technical knowledge and experience acquired through my involvement in research projects.
