F.Lopez-Mir

Telecommunications Engineer (2008) from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), and PhD from the UPV (2015) in technologies for health and well-being (international phD cum laude and with extraordinary award 2017/2018). In addition, he has a degree in business science (2012) and a degree in business management and administration (2013) from the University of Valencia (UV). From the teaching point of view, associate professor at the UV, in the department of economic analysis (2018) and collaborating professor in the communications department of the UPV (2019-2022). In addition, I have co-supervised 3 final degree projects. From a research point of view, I have published 10 journal articles (most of them JCR indexed as Q1 or Q2), 1 book chapter and 26 publications in national and international conferences. I have participated in 15 competitive R&D projects (4 of them international, 1 H2020) and in three direct contracts with companies. For all this, I have won 4 research awards. Since 2009 I have been working at the Bioengineering research and innovation institute. From February 2019 to February 2022 I have a postdoctoral scholarship granted within the framework of competitive grants from the UPV (PAID-10-18). I have also carried out a 3-month research stay at the center for mathematical morphology of the school of mines of the ParisTech university in France. My area of research has focused on computer vision and AI especially applied to medical imaging. Radiological, hyper spectral or fundus image segmentation, registration of different imaging modalities and virtual reality or augmented reality applications. I also do R&D Manager tasks.
