Experience also in UAV data processing and GIS.I am an Aerospace Engineer specialised in Remote Sensing with a PhD in Application of Remote Sensing in Agriculture Production. I have been working in this area for nine years: the first year as a researcher at “La Sapienza, University of Rome”, in an ESA project for the management of water in Kenya (TIGER project). Three years as an ESA Young Scientist for the Dragon3 project, two years as a research fellow at the University College of Dublin, 2 years as an internal research fellow in EO agriculture at ESA and actually, and now I am a lead scientist for EO application in agriculture at Deimos-space. I also had some months of experience in some different companies like Serco in Italy and CGI in Germany, respectively as a support to the management and evolution of Sentinel 3 data applications at ESRIN and as Data and Service Engineer at EUMETSAT.Until now, my career has been focused on the use of Remote Sensing data for crop monitoring and yield estimation with a particular interest in the research and in the exploitation of new technologies and methodologies.During these years I have collaborated on various research projects with different international research centres, such as the Italian “National Council for the Research (CNR)”, the Chinese “National Engineering Research Center for Information Technology in Agriculture (NERCITA)” or the “Remote Sensing and Digital Earth Chinese Academy of Science (RADI)”, and with different universities: the University of Nairobi, La Sapienza University of Rome, Tuscia University or the University College of Dublin. I gradually gained experience in the management of research projects, from the management of the researchers involved in the projects (mainly PhD students), to the coordination of different research bodies for the realisation of common projects.Since my PhD, my research and publications have been focused on the development of applications that, by means of EO data and crop models, would prevent or mitigate the effects of climate change (mainly drought) on crops. Recently I am working on projects that have the purpose of developing EO data applications for decarbonization. In the agricultural field in particular I am developing applications that, through the use of EO data, favour the use of agricultural practices useful for carbon sequestration and monitoring of organic matter in soils.
