HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-06-01: Hop on Facility
The Hop On Facility enables legal entities from low R&I performing countries to join selected Horizon Europe collaborative actions, enhancing inclusiveness, research excellence, knowledge circulation, and reducing participation gaps. It integrates one additional participant from a Widening country into ongoing projects with a specific work package contribution, promoting talent development and transnational collaboration.

Minimum 3 independent legal entities based in 3 different Member States or Associated States, of which at least 1 is from a Member State. EU member states (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden), Associated third countries (Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Faroe Islands, Georgia, Iceland, Israel, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Tunisia, Türkiye, Ukraine, United Kingdom), Other third countries. A partner from an EU or associated country must coordinate the project. Partners from other third countries cannot act as coordinators.

Objetivo
The Hop On Facility aims to enhance the inclusiveness of Horizon Europe by allowing research institutions from low R&I performing countries to join ongoing collaborative projects, emphasizing excellence and added value criteria. This initiative contributes to system-level excellence, research visibility, and knowledge circulation in Widening countries, promoting participation and skill acquisition in transnational projects. The program integrates additional partners from Widening countries into ongoing Pillar 2 and EIC pathfinder projects, with a focus on activities supporting the transition to a green and digital economy. The scheme facilitates the enlargement and enrichment of R&I actions, leading to enhanced research excellence and talent outreach while providing access to new competencies within transnational projects.
