DESPITE THE PROMISING PREMISES AND SIGNIFICANTLY HIGH POTENTIAL, SOLID-STATE BONDING INDUCED BY HIGH-SPEED IMPACTS IS STILL DEALING WITH MULTIPLE OBSTACLES THAT IMPEDE ITS APPLICATION AS AN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING PROCESS, COLD SPRAY, THE TECHNOLOGY THAT EXPLOITS KINETIC DEPOSITION, IS CURRENTLY USED FOR ITS NOTABLE CAPABILITIES IN COATING, REPAIR, AND GEOMETRICAL RESTORATION, MORE RECENT IN PRELIMINARY STUDIES HAVE DEMONSTRATED ITS HIGH POTENTIAL TO BE USED ALSO FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING OF PARTS WITH HIGH STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY, HOWEVER, DESPITE NOTABLE PROGRESS IN RECENT YEARS, THIS IS STILL AN R&D SUBJECT, FAR FROM FULL EXPLOITATION FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING, THE MAIN CHALLENGES ARE I) LIMITED KNOWLEDGE ON THE PHYSICS OF KINETIC BONDING II) NON-EXISTENT STANDARD CHARACTERIZATION METHODS, WHICH PREVENT THE DEVELOPMENT OF CUSTOMIZED DEPOSITS III) DIFFICULTY IN DEVELOPING AUTOMATIZED INDUSTRIAL PLANTS IMPLEMENTING THE I4,0 CONCEPTS IV) LOW SPATIAL RESOLUTION AND DEPOSITION ACCURACY, THIS TRAINING NETWORK AIMS TO TACKLE THE ABOVE BOTTLENECKS ESTABLISHING AND ACCOMPLISHING RESEARCH LINES VIA INTER- AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY TRAINING DEVELOPED SYNERGISTICALLY BY LEADING EUROPEAN ACADEMIC AND NON-ACADEMIC SECTORS, THIS NETWORKS STRATEGY IS BASED ON THREE PILLARS: CUSTOMIZATION OF THE TARGET PROPERTIES VIA OPTIMIZING THE DEPOSITION PARAMETERS TO ACHIEVE SUPERIOR QUALITY, AUTOMATIZATION AND DIGITALIZATION OF THE PROCESS FOR EXCELLENT PRODUCTION RATE AND ACCURACY, AND DEVELOPMENT OF EMERGENT APPLICATIONS THAT ARE NOT FEASIBLE WITH OTHER ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING PROCESSES, THE OUTCOME OF THIS PROJECT WILL UNDOUBTEDLY ESTABLISH AND BOOST THE APPLICATION OF KINETIC DEPOSITION IN THE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING REALM, RISING EUS COMPETENCY IN THIS TECHNOLOGICAL FIELD, THE RESEARCHERS TRAINED WITHIN THIS UNIQUE AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY NETWORK EQUIPPED WITH OVERARCHING RESEARCH AND TRANSFERABLE SKILLS WILL ACT AS THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS IN THE KINETIC ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING FIELD, COLD GAS SPRAY\TRAINING\NETWORK\ADDITIVE MANUFACTURE
