PROFESSIONALS IN THE DOMAIN OF SWIMMING SPORTS HAVE A STRONG INTEREST IN IMPLEMENTING RESEARCH METHODS IN EVALUATING AND IMPROVING TRAINING METHODS TO MAXIMIZE ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE AND COMPETITIVE OUTCOMES GENERAL AIM: TO DEVELOP A MODEL OF SHORT SWIMMING EVENTS PERFORMANCE BASED ON SWIMMING COMPETITION ANALYSIS DATA, ESTABLISHING DIFFERENT AREAS OF MEASURABLE AND TRAINABLE IMPROVEMENT, SPECIFIC AIMS: 1) TO COMPILE AND ANALYZE THE EVOLUTION OF ALL SHORT EVENTS RESULTS AND COMPETITION ANALYSIS FROM 2009 TO 2014, INCLUDING THE ANALYSIS OF THE VIDEO RECORDINGS COLLECTED DURING LONDON OLYMPIC GAMES; 2) TO PROVIDE DETAILED RESULTS OF PERFORMANCES OF ALL PARTICIPANTS FILMED DURING NATIONAL COMPETITIONS IN SHORT EVENTS (JUNIOR AND SENIOR) IN THE PERIOD 2015-18; 3) TO APPLY SPECIFIC PROCEDURES TO COLLECT SWIMMING COMPETITION ANALYSIS DATA IN REAL TIME DURING TRAINING TO PROVIDE IMMEDIATE FEEDBACK OF THESE VARIABLES BASED IN THE EQUIPMENT TO BE INSTALLED IN OUR RESEARCH FACILITIES; 4) TO TEST THE ACUTE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT METHODS OF PAP ON THE SWIMMING START (SS), THE UNDERWATER UNDULATORY SWIMMING (UUS) AND THE STROKE MECHANICS, AND THE APPLIED POWER DURING THE FIRST STROKES OF SHORT EVENTS, 5) TO EVALUATE THE EFFECT OF BIOMECHANICAL TRAINING ON THE STARTING PHASE (MEASURING INSTANTANEOUS FORCES ON THE STARTING BLOCK) PLUS THE EFFECT OF THIS TYPE OF TRAINING ON THE GLIDING PHASE AND THE UUS PHASE OF THE START AND TURN; 6) TO MEASURE THE MUSCULAR POWER WITH DIFFERENT EQUIPMENT ON LAND, ITS TRANSFERENCE TO SWIMMING VELOCITY, AND ITS EFFECT AFTER SPECIFIC PERIODS OF TRAINING, THIS PROJECT WILL BE DEVELOPED DURING FOUR YEARS UISNG THE NEW AQUATIC FACILITIES OF THE FACULTY OF SPORT SCIENCES (UNIVERSITY OF GRANADA) AND THE EQUIPMENT RECENTLY INSTALLED ON IT, PROPULSIÓN\PAP\ANÁLISIS DE LA COMPETICIÓN\MOVIMIENTO ONDULATORIO SUBACUÁTICO\SALIDA DE NATACIÓN\DESLIZAMIENTO
