Descripción del proyecto
In 2018, commercial pilots around the world still learn to fly on aircraft designed just after World War II! This is unacceptable, considering that these aircraft are complex and costly to maintain, fuel-hungry and that most lack in the latest safety features.
Airlines will require 700,000 new commercial pilots within the next two decades. Since all aerospace careers start flying a light aircraft, a total of 110,000 training aircraft will be needed by 2028 worldwide, a growing market worth $220M per year. In these conditions, how can Europe renew with leadership?
The light aircraft market requires a disruptive technology in order to meet demand. Our experience both as aeronautics engineers and ocean racers has shown us the potential of a technology born in ocean racer shipyards, the OneShot technology, to revolutionize the way aircraft are made.
OneShot parts can disrupt the light aircraft industry by reducing complexity tremendously, leading to a safer, environment-friendly, cost-saving and versatile new generation of aircraft.
We have successfully used proprietary OneShot parts to design and build our first prototype aircraft. With more than 100 flight hours, it has already passed all the required flight tests. We now need the support of Europe to obtain the certification of our aircraft both in Europe and the USA, set up our production organization and obtain its approval.
Following our communication campaign, 58 customers have paid a deposit to book a delivery slot for our aircraft. With the help of the European grant, we will develop our brand awareness through social media, attending air meetings and direct marketing.
We aim to take significant market share, reaching a yearly revenue of more than €31M by 2023 and creating more than 39 jobs in the process. Our scalable business model will conform to market evolution.
Our ambition is to boost Europe’s General Aviation sector and become the Airbus of light aircraft industry, ready for take-off!
