Descripción del proyecto Thanks to MIRACLE project (GA 964450), radiative cooling concretes have become a reality. Different works under the umbrella of MIRACLE have constructed an in-depth knowledge on the chemical composition, microstructural texture and micro-additions required for transforming regular concretes into high-tech radiative cooling concretes. In fact, the MIRACLE partnership has developed and patented a new set of concrete formulations that are capable of operating at sub-ambient temperatures under sun exposure. These Daytime Radiative Cooling Cementitious Composites (DRCCC) can revolutionize both modern buildings and our urban landscape. Within this context, the present COOLCRETE proposal aims to explore the commercial possibilities of the developed technology and, in particular, targets to the following objectives: O1. To assess the possibility of DRCCCs for being integrated in current cooling and heating technologies, and in particular identity the potential synergy with compression heat pumps and thermal energy storage devices. O2. To identify geoclimatic scenarios and annual sessions where our DRCCC can be especially relevant, and O3. To identify the most attractive markets and end users for the DRCCC products. These actions, together with other complementary activities to be undertaken under the umbrella of other funding agencies, are expected to boost the TRL and BRL of our DRCC to a level that can allow us to explore the creation of a spin-off at the beginning of 2025.
