Descripción del proyecto Thunderstorms are one of the hardest meteorological phenomena to accurately forecast, causing severe economic and security risk in weather-dependent industries (which represent around 70% of the economy). Across Europe, climate change has seen violent storm events rise by 350% in the past ten years, meaning that managing storm risk is a growing concern for protecting business activities, workers and the general public. SELERYS has developed a unique technology that can anticipate 100% of thunderstorms, 40-60 minutes in advance and with 100m accuracy. The solution is currently based on deploying our specialized radar via our own network (in France) and realtime storm risk alerts via our adapted interface. SELERYS has also developed an advanced prototype of EVEARLYS: a sensor capable of detecting convective activity in a developing storm cloud and therefore providing even more accurate predictions. EVEARLYS is the only industrial tool on the market providing laboratory quality storm detection, at accessible prices. Our technology has the potential to transform the management of storm risk across Europe and guarantee that no organization will ever again be surprised by a violent thunderstorm. The aim of the project is to deploy services based on our technology across Europe, and to reach clients in weather dependent industries (construction, heavy industry, water management…). This involves industrializing production of our EVEARLYS sensor (WP1) and developing it as a standalone solution for the creation of effective storm anticipation service (WP2). Pilot studies (WP3), the development of strategic partnerships (WP4) and market evangelisation (WP5) will prepare our solution for wide-scale deployment. Our aim is to rapidly impose SELERYS as a European market leader in the storm risk management field - benefiting European industry and the security of its population.
