Descripción del proyecto
Every year, more than 9 million articles are submitted for publication by almost 25 million academics around the world. Scientific publishing is increasingly shaped by an emphasis on speed, particularly in high-stake areas such as medicine and sustainable energy. The advent of scientific preprints has greatly improved our ability to access scientific publications in a timely fashion, but the burden of actually writing those publications still rests solely on the shoulders of overworked researchers. Scientific writing is a challenging, laborious, time-consuming task, and one that most researchers feel they are failing at: according to a recent survey we carried, 79% of our almost 400 respondents stated they have trouble completing more than half of their papers. For over 56% of them, the frustration behind not publishing fast enough is among the top three problems they feel the worst about in their lives as academics. For over 23 % of them, this is the very first source of anxiety.
The more time a researcher spends painstakingly choosing words and rearranging paragraphs, the less time they have to collect data, analyze it, formulate theories and actually engage with the public. SageWrite wants to invest in research by giving researchers more time to focus on what really matters: the contents of their articles.
SageWrite offers a cutting-edge AI-powered text-enhancement algorithm that is specifically catered for scientific/technical text. Users input a very schematic draft of what they want to write, and our software generates the corresponding perfect text for them. SageWrite helps researchers write better papers, faster. We already have a working prototype that can generate grammatical text starting from a draft. We ask for WomenTech EU's help to add personalization to our platform: we want to research and develop ways to personalize the generated text output based on the user's preferred style and field(s) of expertise.
