Current medical teaching practice is still largely based on textbooks and lectures. Students struggle to get access to relevant
clinical experience and teaching consistency. As a result, they are often underprepared for the challenges of real world
clinical situations which requires them to assess interrelated symptoms and signs whilst simultaneously refining a list of
differentials and moving to a diagnosis.
DemDX combines powerful clinical reasoning software powered by machine-learning with a reporting dashboard allowing
institutions to draw teaching insights from how students interact with the course material. DemDX support students in
navigating correlated symptoms in order to reach at the correct diagnosis with greater certainty and in a shorter time.
DemDX is also a powerful tool for continuous professional education and for clinical triage where nurses must evaluate the
urgency of an appointment from a phone request.
Our content is contributed by a global community of specialists (200 medical contributors from top institutions such as Guy's
and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College London, Beth Israel Harvard Medical School) providing real-time
updates. Our clinical reasoning software already includes 1,300 diagnostic paths over 13 medical specialties enabled by
100,000 algorithms.
DemDX is currently accessible a free mobile application (iOS or Android) with basic functionalities and has been
downloaded by 30,000 users since late 2016. We intend move to a freemium model once the full product is ready, where an
annual fee of €70 will grant access to all content and functionalities.
DemDX has already gathered interest from leading medical schools such as King's College London (UK), Federal University
of Minas Gerais (Brazil) and the Ministry of Health is considering rolling it out to medical schools and community-based
hospitals in Kenya.ver más
