Descripción del proyecto
"Norwegian Mycelium AS (NoMy) is an Oslo-based bioscience company established in 2020. Our vision is to make our systems of production circular by nature. Our mission is to use the biointelligence of a billion years of fungal evolution to develop new sustainable alternative proteins from fungi.
NoMy does this at three levels. First, we work at the value chain level with large processing industries to design out ""waste"" from their system, by identifying high-volume, low value nutrient rich side streams of the production - ones that are costly to throw away. Thus we invest resources into waste utilisation rather than waste management, at a considerable savings.
Second, NoMy develops circular processes (fermentation technology) for utilising these sidestreams. Our aim is to be circular in the utilisation of infrastructure as well. We invest in production systems that make use of existing infrastructure with our industrial sidestream partners. Third, this provides us with raw materials that are cost effective (where these side-stream producers give them to us or pay us to take them away) to co-create value as circular products. In these production facilities we make fungal-based products that have a fraction of the environmental footprint of existing products. And we can do it at scale, 24/7, regardless of weather, in industrial facilities that require no arable land. Better for people and the planet."
