MULTISCALE GEOPHYSICAL AND GEOCHEMICAL IMAGING OF LA PALMA ISLAND GEOTHERMAL SYSTEM GEOTHERPAL-GEOPH THE RATIONALE BEHIND THIS PROPOSAL IS THE APPLICATION OF CUTTING-EDGE GEOPHYSICAL AND GEOCHEMICAL RESEARCH TO GAIN A SOLID UNDERSTANDING OF THE SUBSURFACE PROCESSES AND PROPERTIES TO SIGNIFICANTLY ENHANCE THE POTENTIAL OF GEOTHERM... THE RATIONALE BEHIND THIS PROPOSAL IS THE APPLICATION OF CUTTING-EDGE GEOPHYSICAL AND GEOCHEMICAL RESEARCH TO GAIN A SOLID UNDERSTANDING OF THE SUBSURFACE PROCESSES AND PROPERTIES TO SIGNIFICANTLY ENHANCE THE POTENTIAL OF GEOTHERMAL ENERGY DEVELOPMENT IN LA PALMA ISLAND, CANARY ISLANDS, SPAIN. THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS PROJECT WILL GENERATE SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE FOR THE DEPLOYMENT OF RENEWABLE ENERGIES (GEOTHERMAL), SOLUTIONS BASED ON NATURE AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE RESILIENCE OF ALL ECONOMIC SECTORS. BEHIND THIS PROPOSAL THERE ARE TWO MAIN HYPOTHESES: I) THE HIGH POTENTIAL FOR GEOTHERMAL ENERGY DEVELOPMENT IN LA PALMA ISLAND AND II) AN INTEGRATED GEOPHYSICAL AND GEOCHEMICAL DATA AND MODELS PRODUCING A MORE ACCURATE IMAGE OF THE SUBSURFACE STRUCTURES, PROPERTIES, AND PROCESSES RELATED TO GEOTHERMAL SYSTEMS.TO UNDERSTAND AND DELINEATE THE GEOTHERMAL SYSTEM OF LA PALMA WE PROPOSE AN APPROACH FROM THE DEEPER GEODYNAMIC PROCESSES THAT GAVE ORIGIN TO THE ISLAND TO THE LAB SCALE STUDY OF THE PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF THE ERUPTED MATERIALS IN THE LAST MONTHS OF 2021 TOGETHER WITH THE CRUSTAL ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY, DENSITY, SEISMIC VELOCITY, AND MAGNETIC PROPERTIES.IN THIS SUBPROJECT WE WILL FOCUS ON THE MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF THE ERUPTED LAVAS, THE JOINT INVERSION OF MAGNETIC AND GRAVITY DATA, THE INTEGRATION OF ALL THE CRUSTAL SCALES MODELS (DENSITY, MAGNETIC SUSCEPTIBILITY, ELECTRICAL RESITIVITY AND SEISMIC VELOCITY) AS WELL AS MODELLING OF DEEP GEODYNAMIC PROCESSES.
