Descripción del proyecto
The impossible becomes possible on one particular night of the year! On 28 September 2012, all persons participating in Malopolska Researchers’ Night 2012 will be able to pass through the door of the future to discover the incredible present and go on a breath-taking scientific trip through time and space. Malopolska Researchers’ Night 2012 will be held in four of the Region’s cities/towns: Krakow, Tarnow, Nowy Sacz and Niepolomice. With their huge scientific potential, these centres put Malopolska at the forefront of regional innovation in Poland. Malopolska Researchers’ Night 2012 is targeted mainly at children and teenagers. We want to show them how fascinating the research work can be. In a fun atmosphere, we will attempt to overcome the traditional stereotype of the researcher as a person whose head is in the clouds and who has little touch with reality. During the Night everybody will have the chance to meet face to face with researchers and see for themselves what fascinating individuals they are: full of passion, having a variety of interests yet dedicated to their work and investing immense efforts in the advancement of science. In 2012, Malopolska Researchers’ Night will be organised on an unprecedented scale thanks to the involvement of 15 Partners and 24 supporting institutions. 41 locations in Malopolska will be available to the public. Around 80 workshops, 108 shows and demonstrations and over 50 lectures will be hosted by 36 faculties/departments. Researchers will provide tours of as many as 50 laboratories and 19 exhibitions. Nearly 30 competitions and games will await the youngest participants. There will also be a wide choice of accompanying events: 8 theatre and cabaret performances by researchers, a music concert and multimedia shows. Nearly 700 researchers, over 300 students and 50 students’ associations will take the public on this incredible scientific journey.
