Descripción del proyecto FYCH is a women-founded innovative start-up that has developed a new disruptive integral solution for recycling currently non-recyclable multilayer plastic products. FYCH´s technology can separate the layers by mechanical processes using a water-based solution with non-hazardous reactants, removing the adhesive, inks, and other coatings. FYCH has also developed a deodorization/decontamination step using water vapor to increase the quality of final recycled products. All the technologies involved in the recycling process have been invented and developed by FYCH´s co-founders. FYCH was founded in 2020 to scale up and commercialize the results of the Ph.D. Theses of Andrea and Oksana (co-founders and promoters). Andrea is CEO and responsible for the business development and organization; Oksana is COO and responsible for customer relations and projects management. Both of them have 100 % dedication to the company. During the first two years, they achieved two public grants, one private investor (who is also an industrial partner), built a pilot recycling line, and created jobs. They also have been developing the company´s business model, market analysis, and marketing. At this moment, FYCH wants to go to the market and find the first customer ready to scale up the technology to the industrial scale. To reach this goal, FYCH must work on several aspects: determine end markets for the final recycled products, attract the attention of the most significant potential customers, update the business model by improving the financial strategy and the market analysis, and protect the patent in other countries to expand the limits of business opportunities. FYCH will use the financial support of the Women Tech EU programme to hire the services of professionals that can help up to reach our objectives. And the mentorship, networking, and training will be especially beneficial because Andrea and Oksana have a technical profile and are working hard to improve our business skills.
