Descripción del proyecto
Syntach CS is a groundbreaking, life-saving device for long-term cardiac support that restores the natural function of the heart’s mitral plane movement in patients suffering from left ventricular heart failure. The technology is based on recent findings of the physiological movement of
the intact heart, which pumps with a scooping, longitudinal movement of the mitral valve. In heart failure, this movement is impaired and the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the metabolic needs of the body. Syntach CS works in synchronization with the heart, supports the cardiac
movements and reestablishes a natural, healthy movement. It is fully implantable in a minimally invasive procedure. Heart movement support is enabled thanks to a mitral anchor ring connected to a drive unit implanted in the lower apex region of the heart from which a pulsatile movement is
transferred to the mitral plane. The system is recharged and monitored wirelessly with no elements protruding through the skin.
