Descripción del proyecto
Antler Bio is a deep tech company that supports animal health, efficiency, and performance through epigenomics. We have developed a novel technology and concept, which data is powerful enough to change livestock and agricultural industries for the better, to meet the global goals for a more sustainable future. We are tapping the currently underexplored data of epigenomics, analysing which crucial genes linked to health and production in livestock are active (expressed) and which are silent. Furthermore, the environmental factors, such as habitat, animal husbandry and feed affect gene expression. Understanding this data allows precision-adjustments to increase well-being and production in a natural way. To deliver this data to dairy farmers, we are developing EPIHERD an AI-platform, currently at TRL5, that aims to help farmers: analyse herd performance against its actual potential, improve animal management and husbandry in a targeted way, strategically select individuals for breeding and production and detect developing health disorders before symptoms arise. With substantial proof in equine and having successfully transferred the technology to bovine we now collaborate closely with key organisations and selected farms in Finland to widen our epigenomic database and develop the platform based on farmer feedback. Being an early-stage deep tech company, struggling to find adequate funding, the cost of acquiring the gene expression data is currently our greatest challenge, hindering growth and expansion. If we were to be supported by the Women TechEU programme, we will execute the plan outlined in this proposal to collaborate closely with 6 Danish dairy farms, enabling us to diversify our epigenomic database and capture crucial feedback that will influence platform and service development. The programme would also impact Antler Bio through offering support, that will help me develop and grow as a CEO, which will reflect on the performance and success of the company.
