THE SEARCH FOR NEW EXPERIMENTAL INSIGHT IS THE NEXT MAJOR MILESTONE OF THE LHC EXPERIMENTS, THIS GOAL INVOLVES TWO MAIN TYPES OF CHALLENGES, ONE SCIENTIFIC AND THE OTHER TECHNOLOGICAL, DIRECT SEARCHES PROVIDE THE MOST STRAIGHTFORWARD WINDOW TO THE DETECTION OF NEW PHYSICS UP TO MASSES OF THE ORDER OF 1 TEV, INDIRECT SEARCHES AT LHCB OPEN THE RANGE UP TO 100 TEV THROUGH MANIFESTATIONS IN QUANTUM LOOPS, WITH SIZEABLE EFFECTS ON PHYSICAL OBSERVABLES (BOTH FLAVOUR-VIOLATING AND FLAVOUR-CONSERVING PROCESSES) OF WELL KNOWN, DIRECTLY PRODUCED BEAUTY AND CHARMED PARTICLES, IN THE PAST, FLAVOUR PHYSICS HAS PROVIDED DISCOVERIES OF KEY ASPECTS OF THE STRUCTURE OF MATTER AND THEIR INTERACTIONS, THE SECOND CHALLENGE INVOLVES THE R&D, DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE APPARATUS WITH THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES, DEMANDING STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGIES, ALONG WITH THE PROPOSAL AND DEPLOYMENT OF INNOVATIVE IDEAS TO EXPAND THE RANGE OF EXPERIMENTALLY ACCESSIBLE OBSERVABLES TO HUNT FOR NEW PHENOMENA,THE NATURE OF THE QUESTIONS POSED BY PARTICLE PHYSICS REQUIRES PARADIGM SHIFTS IN THE TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT OF SENSORS, MICROELECTRONICS, DATA-ACQUISITION METHODS, COMPUTING AND ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES, AND EXPERIMENTAL STRATEGIES, ALL IN THE CONTEXT OF LARGE-SCALE, GLOBAL, COLLABORATIVE AND COMPETITIVE RESEARCH, THESE CHALLENGES CAN ONLY BE AFFORDED IF A CRITICAL MASS OF SCIENTISTS AND TECHNICIANS COLLABORATE IN A COORDINATED WAY, IN THIS CONTEXT, THE VALENCIA (IFIC, UV-CSIC) GROUP HAS COORDINATED WITH THE BARCELONA (UB+URL) GROUPS PARTICIPATING IN LHCB TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY RESOURCES AND EXPERTISE TO AFFORD THESE CHALLENGES,THE ROLE OF THE UB GROUP IN THE COORDINATED PROJECT WITH THE URL AND IFIC (UV-CSIC) PARTICIPATING IN LHCB IS TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY RESOURCES AND EXPERTISE TO PURSUE SOME SPECIFIC GOALS THAT, ALTHOUGH COLLECTIVE FOR THE OVERALL COORDINATED PROJECT, ARE UNDER HIS DIRECT IMPLICATION :1,- PHYSICS ANALYSIS EXPLOITATION (PHY): II,- RADIATIVE DECAYS OF B-BARYONS III, - ISOSPIN ASYMMETRY IV, - RADIATIVE B-->D GAMMA; TRANSITIONS /\B0-->N*GAMMA V,- BRANCHING FRACTIONS AND CP ASYMMETRIES IN RADIATIVE DECAY CHANNELS2,- THE LHCB UPGRADE (UPG), I,- UPG-CALO: UPGRADE OF THE CALORIMETER FRONT END ELECTRONICS, II,- UPG-PACIFIC, UPGRADE OF THE CENTRAL TRACKER FRONT-END ELECTRONICS IV,- EXCLUSIVE SELECTIONS3,- COMMISSIONING, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE EXPERIMENT (OPM), A) OPM-DET-CALO, B) OPM-DET-SCIFI, D) OPM-DET-DAQ,4,- TIER2 AND TIER3 DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING (COM),5,- LHCB PHASE IB AND PHASE II UPGRADE (HL-LHC), B) HL-LHC-UF, FEASIBILITY STUDIES OF A PHASE-II UPGRADE OF THE ELECTROMAGNETIC CALORIMETER ADAPTED TO RUN UNDER THE HIGH LUMINOSITY LHC REGIME, CERN\LHCB\FLAVOR PHYSICS AND CP VIOLATION\EDM\NEW PHYSICS\PHOTOSENSORS\FE ELECTRONICS\FIXED TARGET\GRID
