Descripción del proyecto
Nowadays more than 80-90% of people’s time is spent indoors. Most of this time is spent at the work place, where, the position of a user or a device in a given space is one of the most important elements of contextual information. Location detection, such as the GPS technology, has made a tremendous impact on our everyday lives. Nevertheless, in indoor environments, the usability of the GPS is limited. Radio Frequency Signals (RF) like Wi-Fi, RFID and Bluetooth, light-based technologies like infrared light, sound technologies, and magnetic fields- are all systems commonly used for indoor positioning. However, with an accuracy ranging from 1 to 5m, these technologies are simply not accurate enough for tomorrow’s Industrial Internet of Things. Pozyx Real Time Locating System (RTLS) is GPS for indoors environments. Thanks to our proprietary algorithm that leverages in Ultra-Wideband technology for unparalleled accurate positioning, it is the first IPS to reach up to 10cm accuracy. We is starting a new era of accurate positioning: Pozyx RTLS is as accurate as the most reliable systems in the market like Camera systems and LIDAR with prices that can easily compete with the most affordable systems like Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. So far €747K have been invested into the development of the Pozyx RTLS to ensure and continuously improve its robustness and efficiency. We still need a further investment of €1.8M which will also allow us to finalise engineering and set up a solid EU value chain able to meet the large demand expected during the first years of commercialisation. This will eventually ease our access to new markets, like the entertainment industry. The proposed work in Phase 1 of the SME instrument fits into our overall plan to reach the market by contributing the financial resources needed to plan a fast sound wider deployment of the Pozyx RTLS and its market uptake.
