Descripción del proyecto
Composite materials have the potential of simplifying aerospace & automotive structures. For example, a metallic car body out of 200 parts can be reduced to only 10 composite elements. This leads to large investment & process costs reductions, boosting the competitiveness of these industries while providing them exceptional lightweight to improve fuel economy and to enhance the electric vehicle market by increasing their range. However, state of art manufacturing technologies are not suitable for a full scale industrialization. AEON-T´s machine, SIRA, is the key to make this possible. AEON-T is a spinoff of Technical University of Madrid (UPM), the result of more than 5 years of technology development focused on solving the problem of industrial production of composite parts. With a highly skilled team, the resources of UPM and other leading research institutions in Madrid such as Carlos III University and Institute IMDEA Materials, AEON-T has managed to be among the 10 finalists out of more than 120 companies worldwide in the leading international startup competition at the JEC World 19 Composites Show. The company is currently opening the automotive market, performing concept tests with Voith Composites, a leading company in this industry, with the goal of introducing SIRA machine in the manufacturing line of said company in München, Germany, and other future customers that AEON-T is currently reaching.
