I am a Laboratory Technician, a title obtained in 2018 after completing a technical degree in Laboratory Analysis and Quality Control. I have previously obtained a Master Degree in Agrobiotechnology from the University of Salamanca (2012), in which I expanded the knowledge acquired during the Degree in Biology, in which I specialized in Plant Pathophysiology and Phytotechnology (2010).My studies have allowed me to be part of various institutions dedicated to researching. I have recently finalized a contract at the Institute of Natural Resources and Agrobiotechnology of Salamanca (IRNASA), a center attached to the CSIC, where I have been part of the research group on photosynthesis, working with them on a project that studied the effect of nitrogen on the response of different wheat genotypes grown in an atmosphere enriched in CO2 and high temperature according to climate change forecasts for the end of the century. I have been in charge of homogenizing plant samples, taken at different times and from different parts of a wheat plant, and I have carried out the extraction of RNA from powdered plants. Previously, and thanks to the practices associated with the technical degree in Laboratory Analysis, I also enjoyed another stay at IRNASA in which I carried out bacterial transformation, overexpression of proteins in these transformed bacteria, and the extraction and purification of those proteins using techniques chromatographicDuring my master's studies, I spent nine months at Instituto de Investigaciones Agrarias Luso-Español (CIALE), attached to the University of Salamanca, cultivating transgenic plants in selective media to select those transformants with a response to nitric oxide. Later I enjoyed a scholarship in Finland, granted by the General Foundation of the University of Salamanca, in which I was part of a group that investigated soil-plant interactions in increasingly warmer climates due to climate change. There I carried out greenhouse gas measurements in the field, as well as sampling the vegetation and taking plant and temperature samples, subsequently processing the collected data. I also prepared the collected samples for further analysis. In the private sector, I have carried out the environmental control of clean rooms and the personnel who work in them, producing sanitary products. I have been responsible for the laboratory that carried out these controls, being in charge of two people, keeping the pertinent records up to date and keeping a control of the stock of the material and reagents necessary for the correct operation of the service. I have also carried out the identification of microorganisms using mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF).Skills and competencies:- Crop management and development of Plant Physiology techniques.- Preparation of vegetal samples from different origin for analysis.- Extraction of RNA from vegetable samples, for their subsequent digestion.- cDNA synthesis for the analysis of the expression level of primary metabolism and antioxidant genes by qRT-PCR.- Sterilization of the material. Daily maintenance and cleaning of the laboratory- Responsible for the environmental control of processes in clean rooms and the personnel involved in them.- Plate colony count to identify microorganisms according to the parameters established by the Spanish Association of Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) for the microbiological monitoring of clean rooms.- Introduction of results in spreadsheets and review of results in the system.- Handling of the regulations of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good laboratory practices (GLP).- Identification of microorganisms by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry- Preparation of culture media and solutions.- Replication, conservation and organization of the stock of bacterial strains.- Protein purification: cell lysis, protein extraction by affinity chromatography and molecular exclusion.- Use of molecular techniques: PCR, electrophoresis.- Collection of plant material and intake of greenhouse gases in the field.- Observation and analysis of the plant density at the study points.
